Managed trucks

Let TruckMan
manage your truck.

Own one truck or a whole fleet? Hand it over to TruckMan and we source the driver, find the loads, keep the truck tracked and serviced, and pay you after every settled trip. These are the terms you accept when you enroll a truck.

1. Who can enroll

Any registered TruckMan account holder who owns the truck can apply: a single owner-operator with one truck, or a fleet owner with several. Company or partnership owners may apply through the person named on the account.

Before a truck is accepted it must be registered on TruckMan, and its ownership papers, insurance and roadworthiness certificate must be uploaded and approved by our team. Applications with missing or expired papers are declined.

2. What TruckMan does for you

We source, screen and assign a verified driver when you ask for one, dispatch the truck to paying loads, keep the trip tracked from pickup to drop-off, keep a maintenance record for the truck, and pay your share into your TruckMan wallet after every settled trip.

We do our best to keep the truck working, but we do not guarantee a fixed number of trips, a minimum income, or continuous work.

3. What you agree to do

You remain the owner of the truck at all times. You keep the insurance and roadworthiness certificate valid for as long as the truck is under management, keep correct payout bank details on your profile, and tell us straight away about anything that affects the truck — a court case, a loan on the vehicle, a change of ownership, or a fault we should know about.

You agree not to dispatch the same truck outside TruckMan while it is enrolled, so we are not sending it to two places at once.

4. Money: what you earn and what is deducted

On every completed trip the platform commission of 12% is taken from the fare first, exactly as it is for a self-managed truck. From your remaining share, a management fee of 10% is then deducted and the balance is paid into your wallet.

Both the fee and the payout appear as separate lines on your wallet statement, so you can see the full breakdown for every trip. The management fee may be set at a different percentage for your truck at approval; the figure you are approved on is shown on your managed truck dashboard.

Approved maintenance and running costs are spent up to the monthly maintenance budget you set at enrolment. Anything above that budget needs your approval before we spend it.

5. Driver assignment

Where you ask us to supply a driver, we assign a verified driver from the TruckMan pool. The driver is engaged for an initial period of 30 days, in line with our standard engagement rules, and either side may end the engagement after that period.

We may replace an assigned driver at any time for poor conduct, poor performance or a failed check. You may also ask for a replacement, and we will do so as soon as a suitable driver is available.

6. Maintenance, damage and downtime

Routine servicing, repairs and their dates and costs are recorded in the maintenance log on your managed dashboard, along with the next service due date.

Damage caused by an accident is handled through the truck's insurance policy. Ordinary wear and tear and the cost of servicing remain yours as the owner. Days the truck spends off the road for repairs, papers or driver changes do not earn income and are not compensated by TruckMan.

7. Ending management

You can request release at any time from your managed truck dashboard. Release takes effect after a 14-day notice period and after any trip already in progress has been delivered and settled. Our team confirms the release, after which the truck returns to self-managed and you dispatch it yourself again.

TruckMan may also end management with the same notice — for example if papers lapse, if the truck is unfit for work, or if the terms here are broken. Any outstanding fees or approved maintenance costs are settled from your wallet balance at release.

8. Decline, suspension and disputes

We may decline an application or suspend a managed truck where documents are false or expired, where ownership is unclear, or where there is a safety or legal concern. A reason is always given.

Disagreements are raised through the dispute tool in the app and reviewed by our operations team. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
